General All Skills English Class
The All Skills class integrates oral skills, grammar practice, reading, writing and building vocabulary. There will be an emphasis on oral skills.
- Students build vocabulary, learn relevant grammar structures, and practice speaking and listening, all based on a unifying context or theme.
- In the grammar component, students study the form, meaning, and use of a particular grammar structure and then produce the structure in communicative practice.
- Students practice academic writing skills focused on gaining university entrance, starting with sentence structure and moving towards a well-organized essay in a variety of academic styles.
- Students learn and practice reading skills at all levels, such reading for understanding, identifying the main idea and details, connecting main ideas and support, identifying the author’s opinion and purpose, summarizing information from a passage, and synthesizing ideas from multiple passages.
